LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A section of the 215 in the southwest valley is closed after an early morning crash.
It happened on the eastbound 215 at Jones. According to Nevada State Police, around 12:50 a.m., troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash.
State Police said a white 2023 Nissan Sentra was speeding east on the 215 and rear-ended a white 2018 Porsche Cayenne SUV.
After the crash, the driver of the Porsche got out and approached the passenger side of the Nissan.
Then, police said a 2023 Honda CR-V that was also speeding east on the 215 hit the back of the Nissan, causing it to rotate, thus hitting the driver of the Porsche.
The driver of the Porsche, 31-year-old Alejandro Filomeno-Montoya, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Traffic is being diverted onto the frontage road as authorities investigate, so allow extra time if you are traveling in that area or choose an alternate route.
