NASCAR fans are pouring into Las Vegas. This weekend expect major traffic delays near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In fact, locals may want to entirely avoid the 15 northbound this weekend.

An estimated 100,000 people will be going to the Speedway for race-related events throughout the 3-day events.

"We advise taking alternate routes, if possible. However, if travel along Interstate-15 north is unavoidable then please plan accordingly and allow additional drive time to reach your final destination," says Nevada Department of Transportation spokesperson Tony Illia.

However, there is good news if you're coming into the valley from north of the Valley. NDOT will clear up some Interstate-15 southbound lanes in the Mesquite area from Thursday to Monday. Shoulder restrictions will still be in place & construction will resume after NASCAR weekend at Milepost 118.

To avoid using Interstate-15 altogether, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is once again offering a shuttle service. The RaceDay Express picks up passengers at several locations on the Las Vegas Strip, including: the Stratosphere, Bally's and Treasure Island. You can purchase tickets by clicking here.
