UPDATE: A 22-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash in the south valley.
Metro Police said the wreck happened just after 4 p.m. Tuesday near Saint Rose Parkway and Jeffreys Street. Investigators said a driver made a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow, turning directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The impact threw the rider from the bike. He later died at Sunrise Hospital.
The 20-year-old driver of the car stayed at the scene. Police said she showed no signs of impairment.
The crash marks the 34th traffic fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
