LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The RTC has shared information regarding a crash on Boulder Highway at Nellis Boulevard this evening.
According to the RTC, all southbound lanes in the area are blocked. Traffic cameras show police presence in the area.
Channel 13 reached out to LVMPD to learn more about this incident. Officials said that a motorcycle collision happened at 5:09 p.m. on Friday when the motorcyclist attempted to avoid a pedestrian and lost control of their vehicle, crashing south of the intersection. According to police, the motorcyclist was hospitalized.
While "protecting the evidence related to that crash," an unrelated collision occurred when a different vehicle hit a stationary LVMPD vehicle, police said. One officer sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
Southbound lanes on Boulder Highway remain shut down as police continue their investigation. LVMPD advised avoiding the area "for the next couple of hours if possible."
