LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Ever since the Vegas Golden Knights were knocked out of the Stanley Cup playoffs by the Dallas Stars last September, fans have been ready to see the team return to the ice.

They did so with style Thursday, nabbing their first win of the 2021 season at T-Mobile Arena.

The Golden Knights came out hot with two goals in the first period, had a slow second, and ended on top with a 5-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Noticeably missing from T-Mobile Arena tonight were the 18,000 plus fans typically in the seats.

The team will begin the season without fans, although that may change during the season.

The team's in-game production team simulated a Fortress night with loud music, pumped-in crowd noise that rode the moment and some game day crew around for game-break entertainment.

The Golden Knights will take on the Ducks again Saturday at T-Mobile Arena.
