Golden Knights, backup goaltender Subban reach new deal

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Malcolm Subban has agreed to remain with the Vegas Golden Knights, signing a one-year $850K deal.

The product of Toronto, ON, Canada, was a restricted free agent and avoids salary arbitration with this deal.

“We are pleased to announce this one-year contract for Malcolm,” Vegas president of hockey operations George McPhee said in a statement. "He’s been a valuable contributor to our team over the last two seasons

The 25-year-old goaltender has served as backup to Marc-Andre Fleury since joining the team on Oct. 3, 2017, off waivers from Boston. In two seasons with Vegas, Subban boasts a 21-14-4 record to go with a 2.81 GAA and a .906 save percentage.

He is the younger brother of NHL veteran P.K. Subban.
