YMCA of Southern Nevada summer programs for Las Vegas youth

Posted

YMCA of Southern Nevada offers a variety of summer programs to Las Vegas youth. The camps provide a welcoming environment for kids where they can belong, build relationships, develop character and discover their potential.

The YMCA Summer Day Camp, “Adventure Awaits,” offers kids a chance to unleash their inner explorer. The camp provides them with adventure, healthy fun, personal growth and friendships. YMCA of Southern Y Day Camp also strives to combat summer learning loss. Without access to educational activities during the summer, children who are already behind in reading are at risk of falling further behind their peers. The Y prepares a variety of educational activities, including reading, STEAM projects, crafts and more. The Y holds day camps across all four of their Las Vegas branches, offering options for preschool camp (3-5 years old) and traditional camp (5-15 years old.) Financial assistance is also available for families who qualify.

Children who rely on low-cost lunch plans during the school year are at risk of going hungry when school’s not in session. The Y’s Summer Food Program makes sure kids can enjoy healthy meals and snacks throughout the summer. Last year, the YMCA of Southern Nevada served 20,850 meals to over 1,400 kids and teens. Whether it’s keeping little ones full or keeping them active and engaged throughout the summer, the Y has a program to benefit all youth in the community.
