LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Joan C. Rueben, a Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development department director, was awarded with this year's Entrepreneurial Spirit Team Award.

The award was given on behalf of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Rueben is the director for Nevada Procurement Technical Assistance Center. She and her staff were honored for their ongoing assistance to small businesses throughout the state.

This department assists small businesses by making them competitive for government contracts.

“We are proud of our partners at the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development for all they do to make sure small businesses have the chance to succeed,” said Joseph Amato, District Director for the SBA’s Nevada District Office. “Joan and the PTAC staff truly are advocates for Nevada’s small businesses.”

Rueben and other winners will be recognized May 10 at the Westgate Resort during National Small Business Week.
