In the spirit of the holiday season, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) kicked off “12 Days of RTC,” a social media contest for a chance to win six months of free transit rides.
Transit riders on several of the RTC’s busiest routes were surprised with complimentary 24-hour transit passes this morning, when the RTC announced the contest launch.
Until 11:59 p.m. (PST) on Sunday, Dec. 25, riders can enter the contest by posting a picture or selfie while riding on an RTC transit vehicle or waiting at a transit stop, with the official contest hashtag – #12DaysofRTC – on their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram public accounts.
Additionally, riders must follow or like the RTC on the chosen social media channel, in order for the post to be visible.
There are no limitations on the amount of entries that can be placed by a rider.
Each day, a winner will be selected to receive prizes provided by Einstein Bros. Bagels, and one lucky grand-prize winner will be chosen the week of Dec. 26 to receive six months of free passes through the winner’s rideRTC app.
The rideRTC app launched last month and allows customers to plan their trip, buy their fare and find their bus – all from the convenience of their phone. It’s available for free on Android and iPhone devices.
