Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Diaz and a host of community partners invite the public to a drive-through back-to-school event for the entire family on Aug. 8, 7:30-11 a.m. at Gary Reese Freedom Park.
The park is located at 850 N. Mojave Road. Use the park’s Washington Avenue entrance.
Free backpacks and school supplies will be distributed to school-age children in kindergarten through grade 5 who are present, while supplies last. Also available at the event will be free back-to-school immunizations and valuable information on family health care, Medicare and Medicaid.
Those needing immunizations should be sure to bring their shot records with them. Upon arrival, families are advised to remain in their vehicles in order to assure safe social distancing.
Please have your masks in place when interacting with the volunteers who will assist every family attending.
