Unique ice cream shops in Las Vegas to keep you cool this summer

Posted

Temperatures are soaring in Las Vegas, so to help you cool off, here is a short list of unique ice cream shops around the valley:

Flavyours
Location: 4480 Spring Mountain Road, near Arville Street

Known for their Thai rolled ice cream, Flavyours splashes a cream of your choice on a cold plate and lets it harden. Then they use a scraper to roll the cream into bite-sized chunks. From there, they place the ice cream into a bowl and let you choose your own toppings to finish off the dessert.

Flavyours also has the option to place your ice cream inside a taco-shaped waffle cone. The taco shells come in a variety of flavors including vanilla, ube, and red velvet.

Rolled Ice Cream
Location: 9500 South Eastern Avenue, near Serene Avenue

Rolled Ice Cream has a few locations around the valley, and like Flavyours, they're known for rolling their ice cream on a cold plate.

However, their Eastern Avenue location added chimney cake cones, which are baked fresh inside the shop. The sweet cakes come plain with a soft serve ice cream of your choice, or you can smother the cones with toppings such as Oreo cookies, nuts, or even graham crackers for a s'mores treat.

SweetSpot
Location: 6830 South Rainbow Boulevard, near the 215 beltway

This ice cream shop flash-freezes its ice cream using nitrogen, then tops it off with a variety of toppings like cookies, fruit, whipped cream, cereal, and more.

SweetSpot is also known for their Nitro Breathe, which are giant cereal balls frozen in nitrogen. Eating one lets you breathe out smoke, kind of like a dragon.
