Three Square Food Bank announced that it has received a $150,000 grant from long-time partner Boyd Gaming Corporation to continue its fight against food insecurity in Southern Nevada, currently at record high levels due to COVID-19.

The donation will allow the nonprofit to provide an additional 450,000 meals to Valley residents struggling with hunger.

According to the 2020 Feeding America Map the Meal Gap study, one in five individuals in Southern Nevada are now food-insecure, including 171,510 children.

Boyd Gaming has been a staunch supporter of Three Square since the food bank’s inception in 2007. Before the pandemic, Boyd Gaming employees regularly volunteered at the food bank packing meals for community members in need.

In addition to donating more than 91,000 pounds of food this year alone, Boyd Gaming’s Eastside Cannery currently serves as one of Three Square’s drive-thru food distribution sites in the southeast valley.

Southern Nevadans in need of food assistance are encouraged to visit threesquare.org/help, where a full list of food distribution sites and operating hours are available.

The map and list are updated in real time to ensure the latest information is available.
