Melinda Sheckells, lifestyle and entertainment expert and editor of OffTheStrip.com, shares recommendations on what to eat and drink this week in Las Vegas.

Here is where to ring in Chinese New Year, feast on Fat Tuesday delicacies and order some of the freshest seafood in town.

Chinese New Year Celebrations

Mott 32 at The Venetian, with its award-winning Asian cuisine, is offering a special menu to ring in Chinese New Year. The a la carte menu features whole Maine lobster, pan fried prawn and other traditional Chinese cuisine to celebrate Lunar New Year. This menu is available from February 11 to 14. The Cocktail Collective bars at The Venetian—The Dorsey, Rosina and Electra Cocktail Club —are each showcasing one Chinese New Year cocktail exclusive to their location.

Here's a look at their beautifully crafted Spring Festival with gin, fresh pineapple juice, coconut, lime and a dash of cream available at Electra. Guests who order the signature Chinese New Year cocktail at any of the bars will receive a custom red envelope with a complimentary offer to return to and try either Rosina, The Dorsey or Electra’s Chinese New Year cocktail, available February 12 to 28.

Fat Tuesday's on Fremont

SecretBurger is taking over Fremont East with a Mardi Gras Celebration at Vegas Test Kitchen—a week of popups offering themed multi-course meals and a big Fat Tuesday blow out bash on February 16—think king cakes, po' boys and crawfish pie.

Fresh Stone Crab on the Weekend

Off the beaten path, explore Siegel's 1941 at El Cortez, a downtown treasure, where they serve one pound of stone crab flown in fresh from Florida with a side of coleslaw and cottage fried potatoes for $45—available every Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.
