Clark County school children returned to school this week and with Walker Furniture’s inaugural collaboration with Beasley Media Group and 13 Action News, their “Stuff The Bus” promotion collecting new school supplies for Clark County School District (CCSD) students in need was a huge success.

Walker Furniture’s first “Stuff The Bus” promotion will now be an annual part of its regular community programs.

Two big collections days were held on Saturdays, July 23 and Aug 6, to actually fill a school bus with new school supplies while Beasley Broadcasting radio stations held two-hour live remotes with on-air personalities from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Through Aug. 15, supplies were collected at Walker Furniture, Beasley Media Group and Channel 13.

Then all items were brought to Walker Furniture where thousands of items collected from generous community residents were packaged into 29 boxes for the Clark County School District to pick up and properly distribute.

With the new school year right around the corner, Walker Furniture has teamed up with 13 Action News and Beasley Media to "Stuff the Bus."

Participants are encouraged to bring new school supplies for valley children in need. The goal is to collect enough items to fill the Walker Furniture's full-sized school bus with items such as backpacks, pencils, scissors, calculators and other supplies.

The event will run from July 20-Aug. 15, but there is one remaining collection date:

Saturday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m-6 p.m.

Items can be dropped off at Walker Furniture, located at 301 S. Martin Luther King Blvd.
