Students from Merryhill Elementary School on Durango Drive in Las Vegas recently raised over $800 for disaster relief during a single-day fundraiser for the Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services division.

The division provides services to natural disaster victims and first responders, including food services, disaster social services and donation distribution.

The funds raised by Merryhill Elementary School students will help support the Salvation Army’s relief efforts for the victims of the 2020 hurricane season in the eastern United States and ongoing wildfires in the western United States.

Through this initiative, students learned the importance of spreading kindness and helping those in need.
