LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The 12th annual Spirit of Nevada scholarship contest is now open for Clark County School District high school students.

The theme for the 2021 competition is “Nevada Past and Present.” Sponsored by the Richard Harris Law Firm, the contest awards four high school students with a $1,000 scholarship for displaying their creative interpretation of this year’s contest mantra through video, original work of art, short story or poem, or original song.

The Spirit of Nevada scholarship encourages students to display their creativity in many ways, from music production, video, artwork, or written word. Through the Spirit of Nevada scholarship contest, students are encouraged to express themselves and their love for the State of Nevada in the medium that feels most natural to them.

The theme “Nevada Past and Present” encourages students to share stories and memories of hidden gems throughout Nevada’s history.

There will be four $1,000 scholarships available, one to be awarded to the student with the best entry in each category. Additionally, $500 will be awarded to the school of each winning student.

Submissions may be made online or in-person at the Richard Harris Law Firm until April 16 at 5 p.m.

For further entry instructions, visit their website.
