LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH), managed by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services (NDVS), is celebrating its 18th anniversary this month.

This year, the SSNVH has reason to celebrate: 33 residents and staff have recovered from COVID-19. One resident and four staff members are currently positive with COVID-19, down from much higher numbers earlier this year.

At 1 p.m. Aug. 22, family and community members are invited to show their support for both residents and staff by participating in a drive-thru at the SNSVH. Participants are asked to decorate their vehicles, play music and blow noisemakers, or just keep it simple with a wave and a smile.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants must stay in their vehicles at all times. The first 100 vehicles will receive a gift bag, limit one gift bag per vehicle.
