LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — "Snowball in Vegas" will return to his corner in the downtown arts district on Thursday during the Cat Appreciation Day Street Festival. He was temporarily removed to be refurbished.

There will be a ceremony to welcome him back to his spot on the corner of 1st Street and Coolidge Avenue.

Renowned cat wellness expert Jackson Galaxy, host of Animal Planet's "My Cat From Hell," artist Jesse Carson Smigel (creator of the sculpture), representatives from UNLV, and numerous animal advocacy organizations will be in attendance.

There will also be food trucks, vendors, artists, speakers, projects and videos by UNLV, adoption groups, and a kitty parade featuring cats available for adoption.

Coolidge Avenue will be closed from Main Street to Casino Center, and First Street will be closed from Coolidge to just north of Boulder Avenue.

The festival is happening from 5 to 7 p.m.
