LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Serving Our Kids Foundation is asking for help feeding thousands of kids in need in the Las Vegas area.
Each weekend, the nonprofit feeds around 3,500 students who would otherwise go hungry.
But, the organization says the need is much greater than that. It estimates about 8,000 to 10,000 students need help.
"I know a lot of our kids -- when they walk up and they get that bag of their own -- it really makes them feel good," said the foundation's executive director, Dale Darcas, at a drive-thru food drive on Saturday.
"Hopefully it gives them some hope that this thing is just around the corner and we'll all be able to get on with our lives and get back to some kind of normalcy," he added.
