The Clark County School District is breaking ground on Thursday for a new elementary school.
The new school, which will be located near Galleria Drive and Lake Las Vegas Parkway, is the first of 9 new construction projects this year.
It's the first new school built as a result of the 2015 Capital Improvement Program.
CCSD is also expected to break ground on 5 more elementary schools this year to open late next year.
Gov. Brian Sandoval will attend the groundbreaking on Thursday along with other local and state officials.
