Celebrate Henderson’s history by entering the annual Heritage Parade to be held on Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. in the Water Street District. The application fee is $50 per entry and $25 per nonprofit applicant.

School groups, community organizations, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to participate in the parade. Entries must reflect this year’s theme, “Henderson Rocks,” for a chance to win prizes.

All entries will be judged on incorporation of theme, creativity and overall appeal. The top three floats receive cash prizes. First place will be awarded $1,000, second place will receive $750, and third place will be presented with $500. All prize money is courtesy of several generous community partners.

Applications are available online. Entrants must submit parade forms to the City of Henderson by Tuesday, March 27.

The procession is part of the city’s Heritage Parade & Festival, the event that recognizes the official incorporation of Henderson as a city, which took place on April 16, 1953. The celebration kicks off with the traditional mayor and council breakfast and features a food and music festival and family-friendly festivities.
