The community is invited to eat breakfast with a firefighter at the Open House Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station 55, located at 5725 East Allen Lane.
Hosted by the North Las Vegas Fire Department, the free pancake breakfast will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 2.
Fire Chief Joseph Calhoun will offer welcome remarks around 9:30 a.m., which will be followed by several fire and life safety demonstrations. There will also be station tours, a kitchen cooking fire demonstration, and literature about fire safety and emergency preparedness planning.
The North Las Vegas Police Department will also be there to provide a comprehensive ID kit, which includes inkless fingerprinting for children, a DNA collection swab, and wallet cards for parents to keep in case of an emergency.
Other activities include first aid and CPR instruction, free blood pressure checks, and an appearance from Sparky the Talking Fire Truck.
