Nevada's Big Give raises $630K

UPDATE: Nevada Gives raised more than $630,000 this year. More than 7,000 donations were made.

The Mob Museum in downtown Las Vegas hosted a big kick off event on Thursday. Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and other city leaders were there. Attendees got to check out the museum for free.

The 5th annual Nevada's Big Give is taking place today, March 10.

Nevada Gives is encouraging people in the community to donate to local charities.

Some of the nonprofits include the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Safe Nest, United States Veterans Initiative, Ls Vegas Natural History Museum, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and Leaders in Training.

Donations are being accepted until 11:59 p.m.
