The Animal Foundation hosted "Paws for a Cause" Saturday in an effort to find pets homes.
Adoption fees are only $25 for Chihuahuas and any pet waiting for a home for more than 10 days. Saturday's event at Friendly Ford featured 25 adoptable pets, plus free microchipping for owners who stopped by with their pets.
Organizers shared the one thing every new pet parent needs.
"Patient is number one," Dana Arcana said. "These animals have been through the ringer. Some are picked up the street, some have been abandoned."
Fees are also waived for pit bulls and pit bull mixes for the rest of the month.
