BOULDER CITY (KTNV) — A program in Southern Nevada is helping seniors in need of taking care of their pets.

Boulder City Animal Control and the Senior Center of Boulder City are teaming up to make sure owners have the food and supplies they need for their four-legged friends.

"What we don't want is a senior to go without food because they are trying to feed their pet or miss out out on the companionship of a pet because they couldn't afford food," said Sacha Huysentruyt, with the Senior Center of Boulder City.

The food pantry at the senior center will be open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for eligible seniors to pick up the free pet food.

Seniors in need of pet supplies were advised to contact the Senior Center of Boulder City for more information at 702-293-3320.
