LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — New 80-foot-tall, decorative, illuminated arches will form a gateway to downtown Las Vegas on Las Vegas Boulevard just north of Sahara Avenue.

Construction of the arches will begin on March 16 and the $6.5 million project is scheduled to be completed by September.

The arches will cross over Las Vegas Boulevard and will feature an emblem hanging over the boulevard with a script “Las Vegas.”

The new arches will be near the popular showgirl installation where Las Vegas Boulevard and Main Street meet.

During construction motorists should expect delays and sporadic closures on Las Vegas Boulevard between St. Louis and Bob Stupak avenues.
