Local World War II veterans take to the skies

BOULDER CITY (KTNV) — Local World War II veterans were able to hop into an airplane Monday morning at the Boulder City Airport.

Honor Flight Southern Nevada, Ageless Aviation and the Nevada State Veterans Home teamed up to provide flights for veterans in the cockpit of a Boeing Stearman.

At 3 p.m. at Nevada State Veterans Home, Honor Flight will present a Quilt of Valor, a photo book on the making of the WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C., and a certificate of recognition of service to 25 WWII veterans at the home.
