LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Local artists are painting murals in Bazar Alley in the Huntridge neighborhood in downtown Las Vegas.

The project, Bazar Alley Murals at Huntridge, began with local artist Mila May who painted a mural in her backyard and offered her services to others in the neighborhood. Mila asked local Huntridge resident Steve Franklin (Downtown Steve) to post on Facebook, spurring interest from other local artists who began painting on some of the panels near the Huntridge Center.

The project caught the attention of local developer of J Dapper, who owns the Huntridge Shopping Center. Now, Dapper is offering artists $200 - $350 per panel (small and large panels), plus $150 for paint and supplies, to paint one of 40 panels designated for the project. Local artist Jerry Misko is serving as curator, with professional artists Alex P. Huerta, Lance Smith, JW Caldwell and Sierra Slentz, among those who have agreed to participate.

For artists looking to become involved in Bazar Alley Murals at Huntridge, please email your request to BazarAlleyMurals@gmail.com.
A local developer has stepped in and is helping financially with the project.
