A gesture at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway honored a young Nevada man who lost his life in a snowboarding accident.

The picture of 20-year-old Christopher Ruby was on the back of the Xfinity Series car driven by Joey Gase this weekend.

This was all in conjunction with the Nevada Donor Network. Ruby had been a registered organ donor.

Ruby's family got their first glimpse of the car Friday.

"When we saw it and we saw Christopher's picture on the back of the car, it was a bittersweet moment for us," said father Jeff Ruby. "What an excellent way to show tribute to our son."

The Ruby family said Saturday will be special because one of Christopher's greatest passions was the automotive industry.

For Gase, he donated his mother's tissues after she died. Every time he races, he chooses to honor organ donors.
