The Las Vegas Rescue Mission’s 9th annual “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” fundraising event is going virtual this year and invites the greater Las Vegas Community to “Walk A Mile” on World Homeless Day on Oct. 10.

From parks and neighborhoods across the Las Vegas valley, individuals, friends and families can take a step to help end a growing challenge in our community – homelessness.

Registration is free and people are encouraged to sign up in advance here.

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission’s live broadcast will kick off at 9 a.m. Participants can tune in virtually to tour the facilities and learn more about the Mission and community needs. They then are invited to walk one mile at a location of their choosing once the live broadcast concludes.

Participants are encouraged to post photos on social channels with the hashtags #WalkAMile #WorldHomelessDay to show their support on World Homeless Day.

Southern Nevada had one of the highest homeless populations in the country in 2019, as nearly 14,000 individuals and families experienced homelessness.
