98.5 KLUC’s 17th Annual Chet Buchanan & The Morning Zoo Toy Drive officially kicked off Thursday morning live from the parking lot of NV Energy.

Chet is now living high above Sahara Ave on a 30-foot high scaffold, which is where he’ll call home for the next 12 days.

The morning got off to a great start with multiple donations including the very first donation of Toy Drive courtesy of Tournament of Kings at Excalibur Hotel & Casino who donated 17 bikes in honor of the 17th anniversary of Toy Drive.

Rick Harrison and Chumlee from the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and Pawn Stars also came by and donated $10,000.

Chet will live atop the 30-foot high scaffold for the next 12 straight days, all in an effort to bring awareness to the community about those kids and families that need a little extra help this holiday season.

Each day, 24 hours a day, they will accept donations on behalf of HELP of Southern Nevada to benefit local families and dozens of nonprofit agencies throughout the community.

They are seeking new, unwrapped toys, bicycles and gift cards.
