LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Central Church in Henderson hosted the Day of Hope on June 17.

13 Action News teamed up with Hope For The City to give food to anyone who needs it in the Las Vegas valley.

Throughout the day, the organization accepted donations from businesses throughout the valley who wanted to contribute.

Donations were received from Union Village, Kelley Jones Hospitality, State Farm, US Bank, Violette’s Vegan Cafe, Mass Media, 13 Actions News and Scripps, GF Fire, Threads of ENVy, and GGRM Law Firm.

Here in Southern Nevada, the number of people going without food on a daily basis has risen steadily during the coronavirus pandemic.

Since March 16, Hope For The City has helped 387,638 individuals, with 4,543,184 lbs. of food at more than 165 government-approved pop up locations around the Las Vegas valley, with home deliveries to senior citizens and the immune-compromised and with food drops to hospital personnel and first responders throughout Las Vegas.

They have made more than 5,000 home deliveries with groceries and much-needed supplies to senior citizens and the immune-compromised. Thanks to our generous viewers and local businesses, Day of Hope raised $106,175 to help families in need in Las Vegas.
