Helldorado Days started in 1934 as a way to bring tourists to the Boulder Dam. Now the longest running civic event in Las Vegas history, the festival will continue throughout the weekend before coming to a close on May 14. Here's everything you need to know:

- Melanie Vaughn Memorial Mutton Bustin' - Kicking off each rodeo on May 11, 13, and 14, the object of Mutton Bustin' is for children ages 5-7 to hold onto their sheep and ride for 6 seconds.
- Parade - Held on May 13 at 10 a.m. in Downtown Las Vegas, the parade celebrates Western culture with bands, floats, and more.
- Whiskerino Contest - Judges will decide who has the best beard in the West! The event begins May 13 at 3 p.m. on the rodeo grounds.
- Horsepower Charity Poker Run - On May 13, bikers will set off on a ride that will take them to Saddles 'n Spurs, The Hitchin' Post, Leather Headquarters, then head to the Las Vegas Village grounds for a wrap-up party.
- Helldorado Days Brewfest - Fans of craft beer can enjoy unlimited samples from 40 breweries on May 12-13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Las Vegas Village grounds. Breweries include Crafthaus, Big Dog's, Mother Earth, Modern Times, and more.
