Thousands of volunteers worked around the clock Saturday to build hygiene kits for those in need.

The event took place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Volunteers from The Venetian, The Palazzo and the community built 55,000 hygiene kits for the nonprofit group Clean the World. Volunteers worldwide built 200,000 kits in a 24-hour period.

Clean the World works with hotels around the globe and take used soaps and recycle them. The kits include soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste and are distributed to local organizations including Nevada Homeless Alliance, Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Salvation Army and Serving Hope Las Vegas.
