LV Sportz Foundation is offering free sports physicals and heart screenings for local youth ages 10 to 18 on Feb. 27.
The screening event will be held at the Complete Health & Wellness Center on North Green Valley Parkway.
Interested parents must pre-register for the event since there is limited space. Parents can visit the LV Sportz Foundation’s Website at http://lvsportz.com/screening for scheduling, forms and more information.
The foundation is also in serious need of donations for this and future events. Funds are used to provide supplies and logistics like gloves, gel, EKG leads, gowns, etc. for the events as well as purchase equipment like portable exam tables, EKG Machines and more. When enough funds are available, the foundation also pays for and certifies coaches and other sports administrators in American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid. The screening events are part of the foundation’s larger Game-Saver Program which also includes low-cost American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification for coaches/team moms, hands-only CPR training for student-athletes and an A.E.D. Loaner program as part of their Positive and Safe Sports (P.A.S.S.) Initiative.
