LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Hundreds of people attended a "Go Red for Women" luncheon Thursday at the Four Seasons hotel in Las Vegas.
The event helped the American Heart Association support lifesaving heart and stroke research education and outreach.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women in the country - taking more lives than all cancers combined.
One of the notable attendees Thursday was TV personality and heart disease survivor Star Jones.
She talked about her struggle and encouraged others to take care of their heart by maintaining a healthy diet.
13 Action News also attended the event and joined others in showing support for women's health.
