BOULDER CITY (KTNV) — Boulder City is shutting down part of its historic downtown area this weekend to throw a giant block party with live music, food trucks and entertainment.

The eighth annual Dillinger Block Party is May 11 from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The event is free to attend and open to all ages.

Attendees can enjoy live bands, vinyl DJs, food trucks, vendors, and attractions like the Best Dog on the Block Contest, Dad Noise Competition, and Beer Drinking Contest.

The block party also serves as a fundraiser for the nonprofit Shane Patton Foundation, which provides scholarships to local high school students.

The event is the final destination on a city-wide Historic Preservation Day Celebration.

At 3:30 there will be a parade led by the BCHS Marching Band down California Street (BC's original parade route) that will end in front of the stage.
