The Clark County Fire Department is holding an open house to discuss drowning prevention, heat safety, and other summer-related safety topics on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fire Station 18, 575 East Flamingo Road near Paradise Road.
Other topics include wildfire prevention and firework safety during Fourth of July celebrations. The open house will also feature "jaws of life" demonstrations, as well as a children's fishing derby and tours of the fire station.
The fire department hosts open houses with community partners every other month on Saturdays at different fire stations in the county. The next open house will be held on August 13 at Fire Station 16 with Back-to-School safety as the theme.
