Nevada Virtual Academy building ribbon cutting

Nevada Virtual Academy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for a new building for its students.

Good Morning Las Vegas' own Beth Fisher cut the ribbon at the grand opening celebration.

Nevada Virtual Academy is a free online charter school for K-12 students.

"40 percent of our students need and want additional support face to face," said high school principal Orlando Dos Santos.

The school has about 2,300 students including some who are earning their associate's degree while they're in high school.
