The North Las Vegas Library District now offers free online tutoring and educational services for patrons of all ages.

The Library District recently subscribed to Brainfuse, a leader in online tutoring and educational assistance. Residents of North Las Vegas now have full access to numerous new services, free with a registered North Las Vegas library card.

Among the services available:

• Live homework help: Between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m., students can interact with live tutors to receive help with a wide range of state and Common Core-aligned subjects, including math, science, reading and writing.

• Skill surfer: An extensive library of lessons, video tutorials and practice tests now is available to help users prepare for a variety of exams, including the SAT, ACT, GED, GRE, HiSET, TASC, TOEFL, ASVAB, COMPASS/ACCUPLACER and more.

• Writing lab: Users can become better writers by receiving expert analysis of their papers and projects, complete with constructive comments and tips for improvement.

• Leap learning platform: Patrons can master basic academic skills through diagnostic tests, customized study plans, lessons, video tutorials and live tutoring.

• Adult Learning Center: The Adult Learning Center, designed for adult learners, offers test preparation (including for high school equivalency exams and U.S. citizenship tests), a writing lab, study tools and an academic skills center featuring live, online tutors.
