Chick-fil-A has brought backs its fish sandwich for Lent

Lent is a six-week period of fasting, self-service and prayer observed by Christians each year to prepare for the celebration of Easter.

Part of the tradition of Lent is to give up meat. During Lent many churches offer a fish fry and restaurants will highlight fish options on their menus.

This year, Chick-fil-A has brought back its fish sandwich for Lent. The fish sandwich will be available through April 20.

Arby’s is offering two fish sandwiches for $5 for a limited time.

Bonefish Grill is offering the Anglers Catch every Friday during Lent. It features tempura-style, hand-battled crispy cod, sea scallops and shrimp with French fries and coleslaw.

Burger King’s Big Fish sandwiches are now included in the chain’s 2 for $6 ix or match special for a limited time.

Church’s Chicken has a $5 Pick-Your-Platter with three options: Garlic Butter Shrimp Platter, Shrimp ‘n’ Tenders Platter and the Crispy Fish Platter.

Del Taco is offering Beer Battered Fish Tacos for $ 4 for a limited time.

DQ Grill & Chill in Henderson is now offering a Wild Alaskan Pollock Sandwich. Order alone or with fries and a drink.

Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering a new sandwich made with cold-smoke Alaskan salmon, tomato, avocado, cucumber, red onion, capers and onion-chive smear on a sesame bagel. Cost is $7.49.

McDonald’s also has a fish sandwich on its menu. It is available all year round.

Quiznos has brought back its lobster and seafood subs for a limited time.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill is offering a Fresh Catch menu featuring the Italian Fish Fry for $20 and the Grilled Fish Feast for $25 during Lent.

Wendy’s has brought back the North Pacific Cod Sandwich for a limited time.


Christ the King Catholic Community is offering a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. March 22 and 29 and April 5 and 12. This year's menu includes baked and fried fish, cole slaw, French fries, macaroni and cheese, clam chowder ($1 extra), rolls and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12.

St. Viator Catholic Catholic Community's annual fish fry is offered between 4 and 7 p.m. Fridays. Menu includes choise of baked or fried Alaskan cod, baked potato or French fries, coleslaw, roll and better and coffee. They also offer $1 cheese pizza slices. Desserts and other drinks sold separately. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 8282. $8 for adults, $7 for children ages 7 to 12, free for children ages 6 and under.
