Where to get fish during Lent in Las Vegas | 2020

Lent is a six-week period of fasting, self-service and prayer observed by Christians each year to prepare for the celebration of Easter. Part of the tradition of Lent is to give up meat. During Lent many churches offer a fish fry and restaurants will highlight fish options on their menus.

Lent begins on Feb. 26 for 2020. This list (originally published in 2019) has been updated to reflect the latest information.

FISH FRYS OR FISH AND CHIPS

Balboa Pizza Company's fish and chips features 3 pieces of fried fish, Maui Waui fries and Big Kahuna coleslaw. $11.95.

Christ the King Catholic Church is offering a fish fry from 4 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday during Lent beginning Feb. 28. It includes baked or fried fish, coleslaw, french fries, macaroni and cheese, rolls and dessert. Cost is $7 adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Clam chowder for $3.

Claim Jumper offers beer-battered fish fillets served with tartar sauce and french fries.

Crown & Anchor British Pub's English fish and chips features beer-battered cod, fries and peas with tartar sauce. Mushy peas are $2 extra. $13.99.

Flowing Tide Pub's fish and chips features 7 oz. of Alaskan True cod battered in Sam Adams Boston Larger and served with french fries, bleu cheese slaw and tartar sauce for $10.99.

Lakes Lounge has fish and chips for $9.99. The local favorite features cold water cod in a beer batter and steak fries with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.

McMullin's Irish Pub's Coast Road Inn Fish & Chips are named for the old family pub in Ireland. It includes beer-battered Wild Pacific cod served with fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. You can get 2 or 3 filets. They also offer Little Bits O' Fish, which is a snack-sized version of their fish & chips.

Off The Hook offers vegan gish and chips served with vegan tartar, housemade coleslaw and french fries for $12.99. It also has regular fish and chips with pacific white fish, french fries, housemade coleslaw and tartar sauce. The family size includes hush puppies, large fries and large coleslaw.

Nine Fine Irishmen offers fish and chips made with beer-battered Alaskan cod, Irish chips and tartar sauce.

Ri Ra irish Pub offers fish and chips made with battered Icelandic haddock, hand-cut fries, tartar sauce or Irish remoulade and a lemon wedge (add Batchelors mushy peas for extra charge.

Robert Irvine's Public House at Tropicana Las Vegas offers fish and chips made with flaky beer-battered fish and Kennebec fries. The fries are topped with feta cheese, bacon, curry, aioli and green onion. Cost is $28.

The Smashed Pig's fish and chips features beer-battered fish with fries and housemade tartar sauce. $17.

Steiner's offers fish and chips for $13.99 featuring Icelandic cod dipped in beer batter and fried golden brown. Served with Brew City fries, tartar sauce and lemon wedges. Coleslaw available on request.

Village Pub's fish and chips are made with Icelandic cod dipped in batter made from award-winning Ellis Island beer and served with seasoned steak fries, housemade tartar sauce and lemon wedges. $9.99.

Wahoo's Fish Tacos is offering fish 'n' chips for $11.60, including drink. They also have a fish sandwich with fries and drink for $9.99.

FISH SANDWICHES

Burger King’s Big Fish sandwiches are made with Alaskan Pollock and topped with tartar sauce, pickles and lettuce.

Carl's Jr. fish sandwich features a beer-battered filet with tomato and lettuce and a soft, sesame bun.

Chick-fil-A has brought back fish for Lent. The fish sandwich will be available Feb. 26 through April 11. Four fish items will be available on the menu, including traditional fish sandwich, with 2 portions of fish; deluxe fish sandwich, with tomato, lettuce and American cheese; and boxed fish with 2 or 3 pieces of fish and waffle potato fries.

Arby’s is offering a limited-time Crispy Fish Sandwich and the new Fish n' Cheddar Sandwich during Lent. Get 2 for $6 with coupon.

Jack In The Box's fish sandwich is made with Alaskan Pollock with lettuce and tartar sauce.

McDonald’s also has a fish sandwich on its menu. It is available all year round.

Wendy’s has brought back the North Pacific Cod Sandwich for a limited time. Prices start at $3.99, may vary by location.

Smashburger is offering a beer-battered Pacific cod sandwich just in time for Lent. On Feb. 26, Prices start at $7.99.

White Castle has fish sliders. They are made with Alaskan Pollock and topped with choice of cheese. It's around $2 per slider. They are also bringing back Shrimp Nibblers for Lent.

OTHER FISH OFFERINGS

Bonefish Grill offers multiple fish choices, including Chilean Sea Bass, Atlantic salmon, Baja striped bass, Rainbow Trout, ahi tuna steak, scallops and shrimp.

The Cheesecake Factory offers fish and chips, fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, seafood gumbo and several salmon entrees.

Church's Chicken is featuring several special for Lent, including garlic butter shrimp 'n' tenders platter for just $4 and family fish fry for $20.

Del Taco offers beer-batter fish tacos.

The Hush Puppy offers mostly seafood, including farm-raised catfish, New Orleans fried oysters, boiled and fried shrimp and more.

Mastro's Ocean Club is featuring their customizable sushi towers during lent. A 2-item tower is $38 to $64 and a 3-item tower is $62 to $88.

Miller's Ale House has fried shrimp, Atlantic salmon, English pub fish $ chips and a Mahi taco trio. And on Fridays, they offer a Fisherman's combo for $14.99.

Olive Garden is featuring seafood dishes as part of their Tastes of the Mediterranean promotion. it includes salmon piccata, shrimp scampi and herb-grilled salmon.

Popeye's has a number of seafood items, including butterfly shrimp, popcorn shrimp, calamari and Cajun fish.

Quiznos has a new Cajun lobster sub topped with shredded lettuce, tomatoes and hosemade Cajun aioli and Cholula hot sauce.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill offers grilled Mahi-Mahi and salmon, sauteed jumbo shrimp, lobster ravioli and shrimp scampi.
