The annual Helldorado Days Parade took place May 12 in Downtown Las Vegas.

The parade was led by the city’s honor guard and Mayor Carolyn Goodman in a pink Cadillac. Her husband, former mayor Oscar Goodman, accompanied his wife.

The parade featured approximately 100 entries, including first responders, local high school marching bands, local members of the ROTC programs, representatives of various people running for election, cultural groups and more.

Locals who share a birthday with the city — May 15 — were also invited to march.

This year the parade paid tribute to the survivors of the 1 October mass shooting and celebrated the history of the city of Las Vegas.

Thousands of people turned out to watch the parade on 4th Street.

The first Helldorado Days event was held in 1934 and was created by a local Elks Lodge.
