After months of anticipation, T-Mobile Arena opened Wednesday on the Las Vegas Strip.
"Mr. Las Vegas" Wayne Newton was joined by local musicians The Killers and Shamir for the venue's first concert that evening.
Even though The Killers are a locally based band, fans from all over came to Las Vegas for the opening show at the arena.
Locals also say T-Mobile Arena is something that can draw them to the Strip, unlike other attractions they tend to avoid.
The arena's opening day was full of festivities prior to the performance.
The second performance on Thursday will feature Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
