LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Zippy's has purchased land in Las Vegas, bringing the popular Hawaiian restaurant one step closer to opening its first location in the valley.

For more than 50 years Zippy’s has been a staple in Hawaii serving up Hawaii-style cooking and ranking as one of the top fast-casual concepts in the state.

The recently-purchased property is located on the southeast corner of Badura Avenue and Montessouri Street in the southwest part of the valley.

Zippy’s says it plans to build a 7,000 square foot restaurant, take-out, and retail bakery, in addition to a 12,000 square foot central kitchen/bakery to support future growth in Las Vegas.

The site will require extensive improvements and construction. The opening of Zippy’s is expected in the later part of next year.

In the meantime, Zippy’s plans to participate in the Pure Aloha Festival on Easter weekend in Las Vegas.
