'Hamilton' headed to the Smith Center

America's most celebrated new musical, "Hamilton," is coming to Las Vegas.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is announcing its lineup for the 2017-2018 Broadway Las Vegas season on Feb. 28. However, they have already confirmed that "Hamilton" will be stopping in Las Vegas during the new season.

"Hamilton" is about the life ot American founding father Alexander Hamilton. The show was inspired by the 2004 biography "Alexander Hamilton" by historian Ron Chernow. The show made its debut in February 2015 at an off-Broadway theater. It transferred to Broadway in August 2015 and received a record-setting 16 TONY nominations in 2016 and won the 2015 GRAMMY Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

President and CEO of The Smith Center Myron Martin and Broadway icon Seth Rudetsky will make the annoucement on Feb. 28.
