The City Lights Art Gallery in Henderson is featuring an exhibit titled "Diversity" by the artist Linda Land for the month of January.

Linda Land is a largely self-taught artist painting in oil and acrylic.  Her favored subject matter seems to choose her and includes works focused on Native Americans, landscapes or her current passion, animals.   Her work is identifiable by the intensity and vibrancy of color she is able to capture.

With a lifelong interest in art, Land didn’t begin actively painting until 6 years ago when she joined a group at the Heritage Park Senior Center.  She is currently studying oil with Bob O’Neill at City Lights and paints at least three times weekly to continue to improve her skills.

A meet-the-artist reception will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 16.

Art Classes in watercolor, acrylic, abstract water media, drawing and oil are currently being offered!  Aspiring artists or those simply looking to refresh their skills are welcome.

The gallery is a 3 E. Army Street.
