Rumors of a possible residence by Adele are making the rounds again.
A source reportedly told The Sun in the UK that the Wynn hotel-casino is preparing to offer the singer a half a million dollars per show. According to the source, the offer will be made in January.
Although Las Vegas was once considered the place for performers who were past their prime to make a few more dollars, that is no longer the case.
Celine Dion was one of the first major headliners to make Las Vegas her home in 2011. Other (current) top headliners include Elton John, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. And comedian and movie star Adam Sandler is scheduled to start a residency at The Cosmopolitan in November.
Adele is not the only big name that is reportedly being courted by Las Vegas. Many people have also speculated that Bruno Mars may take over a Las Vegas stage on a more permanent basis some day.
That seems to be much more likely to us given the singer's fondness for the city. He has performed in Las Vegas many times and has an upcoming mini-residency (performing shows for New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day).
In addition, Janet Jackson is also a possible headliner.
A representative for Wynn said that the story is not true. However, it would not be a surprise if Adele did eventually end up in Las Vegas.
