LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The College of Southern Nevada's newly-formed competitive Mariachi Plata made its Las Vegas debut at a sold out event.
The Mariachi Plata is apart of the Fine Arts Music Program at CSN.
The group is fresh off a competition in San Antonio, Texas, where they placed third.
CSN students say a lot of work went into getting ready for their trip.
"We went on the stage and we represented Nevada because we knew that we needed to give it our best," said Precious Carrasco, who is in the program.
The Mariachi Plata was not the only group to perform during Tuesday's show.
Mariachi bands and dance companies from middle and high schools across the valley also showed off their skills.
