LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — 2020 is expected to be a big year for weddings, and local officials said that's what they are hoping for during a Tuesday meeting.

Industry leaders and officials from Clark County met to talk about the state of weddings in Las Vegas since Vegas is often referred to as the "Wedding capital of the world."

Even though marriage numbers are down nationally, Clark County Clerk Lynn Goya told 13 Action News that she is excited for what's to come in 2020.

"People love those really fun dates, and 2020 has a lot of fun dates. February we'll be out at the airport at the pop-up Marriage License Bureau for almost the whole month because they have 2/2/20, 2/20/20, and leap year and Valentine's Day over the weekend," Goya said.

She also said the Clark County Marriage Bureau is working on special promotions with the city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
