Boy Scouts of America donate $18K worth of popcorn to VA hospital

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Area Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA), donated over $18,000 of popcorn sold this past year to the staff and patients at the VA Hospital.

Robert Johnson, chief of voluntary service with VA of Southern Nevada Healthcare System, thanked the Las Vegas Area Council Boy Scouts of America. The VA plans to roll out their vaccination process over the next several of months, as individuals get their vaccine and complete the process they will be provided with the popcorn.

Ryan Moon, director of field services states “Over 65 Scout units throughout the valley this past fall comprised of Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA Scouts sold over $426,000 in popcorn. Over $46,000 was in donations for our local Hometown Heroes Program. Already $13,000 was donated to Serving Our Kids Foundation and $10,000 to Veteran’s Village. Today we were able to drop off over $18,000 of popcorn sold to the VA Hospital."
